Neuro-Laser Foundation presents the inaugural TBI GALA, a festive fundraiser supporting vital research for brain injury treatment

DENVER, Colo. (April 13, 2017) — The sounds of Latin Jazz, Swing, and Ballroom will ring out of Inverness Hotel & Conference Center on Sunday, April 30th, to help those with brain injury and concussion. A festive Gala will start at 5:00 PM to raise money for the vital work of the non-profit Neuro-Laser Foundation. The foundation is researching a new treatment for patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI) that preliminary studies show to be a successful, non-invasive method of healing brain damage.

Among the featured musicians will be the percussionist legend, José Madera. Madera played with jazz great Tito Puente and also James Brown, Diana Ross, and David Sanborn. Leading the band will be composer and pianist, Neil Bridge, “who has upheld the highest standards in musicianship and swings like no other,” said Dr. Theodore Henderson, event organizer and co-Founder of the Neuro-Laser Foundation. “Truly a long-time giant of Denver’s jazz scene, Neil and his muse, Karen Lee Bridge, will front a full band of top musicians for an unforgettable night of jazz, swing, latin jazz, and COOL!”

Hosted by Neuro-Laser Foundation, the Gala sponsors include Neuro-Luminance, which provides ketamine infusions for treatment-resistant depression at the oldest and most-respected ketamine clinic in Denver, Breckenridge Grand Vacations, Zoe Salon and Spa in Greenwood Village, Taspen’s Organics, Ski Village Resorts of Breckenridge, Spika Studio, and The Synaptic Space, a neuroimaging consulting firm in Denver.

Comedian Samuel Adams will serve as Master of Ceremony, patients will share the impact of this revolutionary treatment on their concussion/TBI, and former Denver Bronco and Super Bowl champion running back Reuben Droughns will share his story of concussions in the NFL. Additionally, Colorado artist Pam Spika headlines a silent auction offering a new original painting, along with art pieces, weekend getaways, collectables, spa and beauty certificates, and sports memorabilia. An autographed John Elway jersey will also be available for auction.

All tax-deductible donations from the Gala support a pivotal double-blind, placebo-controlled study of a new treatment that has been shown to repair brain damage from TBI. Tickets bought before April 15 will be entered into a chance to win a 4-night stay in Breckenridge.

What is Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)?

Traumatic brain injury typically occurs after a concussion, or after the brain suffers numerous sub-concussive hits. Symptoms can include forgetfulness, moodiness, sleep loss, and result in feelings of anxiety and depression. Headaches, difficulty concentrating, rage, and even suicidal ideation can also occur. Often, those with TBI are told there is no treatment, other than medicating the symptoms. Unfortunately, many times the prescriptions cause more harm to the injured brain than good, according to Dr. Henderson.

However, the Neuro-Laser Foundation hopes to change, and provide the first viable treatment known for the millions of people who suffer from TBI.

Dr. Henderson and co-Founder Dr. Larry Morries have published five studies in the last 18 months showing the efficacy of the FDA approved, patent-pending, non-invasive and painless treatment. To date, every patient receiving the treatment reports significant improvement to both their symptoms and cognitive functions. Dr. Henderson published a video outlining the science behind the new TBI treatment that stimulates brain restoration processes, which is one of the hottest topics in neuroscience today.

Please support the Neuro-Laser Foundation, a 501c(3) organization based in Denver, CO, spearheading research and treatment for traumatic brain injury, while subsidizing treatment for qualifying Veterans and First-Responders. Learn more at www.TBI.care.
